Our actions, however small have an impact. And there is power in Numbers

zero waste wave

zero waste wave

Now that we are all in lock down and have all this time to our disposal, (right ??) please take a moment to browse this fantastic website I found. I am always struck by how we all have the same way of thinking, no one has to be perfect, no one has to (or can) do it all or all at once, but TOGETHER, we can make a difference, there is power in numbers. The site is easy to read,…

Nothing is ever black and white

Nothing is ever black and white

For a long time I have been hoping to find alternatives for the plastic bags I continue to use. I no longer use the plastic bags in the grocery store, both for fruit and veggies as well as the bigger grocery bags. These were very easy adjustments that did not cost any effort at all. For garbage and doggy poop, I still am using plastic ๐Ÿ™ Recently I saw true compostable bags from Trader Joe’s which made me very happy….

a new twist to a very old concept

a new twist to a very old concept

there are many videos like this on Youtube, but with our limited time and attention span I decided to share only one. But how uplifting is this idea. As it might appear to be about another HUGE problem (chronic Illness and the overload of unhealthy food that we consume) it is actually very closely interconnected with our poor mother earth. It also has a very positive message and a call to action that everyone can answer too. There is power in Numbers and together we can make a difference.

interesting article about offsetting your carbon footprint.

interesting article about offsetting your carbon footprint.

best if you read it yourself but the bullet points are offsetting is a last resort not a checkbox for feeling good and going on with your life, you should first try to decrease your footprint and use this for things you cannot (yet) change Some offset companies are more trustworthy/effective then others When buying an offset, experts say to check to see if itโ€™s verified by a third-party agency such as Climate Action Reserve, Verified Carbon Standard, Climate, Community,…

perfection is so overrated

perfection is so overrated

I stumbled upon this website at another discussion about the environment, better choices and taking responsibility. I really like this. The idea of throwing away food always punches me in the gut ( pun intended) This company tackles many problems at one time, reducing waste, reducing carbon foot print, decreasing cost for costumers, increasing income of organic farmers, increasing consumption of healthy organic products. What’s to loose? perfection is so overrated….. https://www.misfitsmarket.com

TREE TIME

TREE TIME

Lately there has been a lot of attention to the potential of planting trees to fight climate change. Here are a few things we can do or support to make that happen. But first a piece of information https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/jul/04/planting-billions-trees-best-tackle-climate-crisis-scientists-canopy-emissions https://8billiontrees.com/?campaignid=1634870583&adgroupid=63088305500&adid=416269919919&gclid=Cj0KCQiAkKnyBRDwARIsALtxe7h86AVf5L6u3p7eIeAzBsck3bs7b8afkSpEH-n8lDpy0pOI_keIBSMaAiGIEALw_wcB https://www.nature.org/en-us/get-involved/how-to-help/plant-a-billion/ https://onetreeplanted.org you can also actually volunteer to plant trees! https://onetreeplanted.org/pages/volunteer-tree-planting-events Then there is the Ecosia app that uses their profit they make from advertising to plant trees. I have been using it, it is not as good as Google,…
